Added: 03/30/2006

The hotel industry is a large and complicated entity encompassing many areas. In today's global business world, the hotel industry and its suppliers are faced with a multitude of challenges and opportunities. The AH&MA -- better known as the American Hotel & Motel Association -- is committed to preparing, protecting and promoting its members, so that they may anticipate and respond to the ever-changing global economy.

The hospitality industry is an immense and complicated phenomenon touching upon many areas.  In the modern globalized business world, the lodging industry and its suppliers are faced with a multitude of challenges and opportunities and to overcome difficulties which can arise, there was organized the AH&MA. Founded in 1910, the american hotel & motel association (AH&MA) is the trade association representing the USA lodging industry.

The AH&MA is a federation of state lodging associations throughout the United States, having over 11,000 lodging properties worldwide, representing more than 1.4 million rooms. There is no need to enumerate all the advantages of the AH&MA- they are seen through the high standard of American hotels and satisfied feedback of their clients. Since the very establishment of the AH&MA it has been the leader and head of the lodging industry.

The AH&MA seems the most powerful organization of such a kind at least in North America with lodging properties ranging   from small economy motels to large convention hotels, to luxurious resorts to vacation ownership properties.

In plain words, the AH&MA is an association of hotel owners or managers operating lodgings of national repute and importance.  It is not just a forum for discussion and reflection on the future of the hotel industry; it is a powerful commonwealth of accommodation services.

At the national level, AH&LA lobbies federal legislators who make key decisions about hotel business and its bottom line (as, for example, labor shortage issues). At the state level, the benefits offered by AH&MA may include free legal and accounting services, state law updates, discount vendor programs. Employee benefit and workers' compensation discounts, credit cards processing discounts, and much more is also included.

These all benefits and AH&MA advantages contribute to a more successful hotel operation. The AH&MA is committed to preparing, protecting and promoting its members, so that they may anticipate and respond to the ever-changing global economy.
For the latest dozen years the AH&MA has introduced and developed a modern and progressive concept of the hotel business as well as promoting an expansionist and exporting policy in order to adapt international know-how to the demands and future of the American   accommodation industry. Through alliance with lots of governmental services, the AH&MA executives share vital information about the nation's hotel community to prevent, detect, and respond to terrorist and malicious threats to lodging guests.

In fact the AH&MA constantly works out different educational and membership programs, which can be free or open for AH&MA members only. AH&MA programs consist of creating themed ads to appeal to a wide range of consumers and placing them, at preferred rates, in a variety of general and special interest magazines.

Both national and regional placements are in the mix, and include some extraordinary values.
